Ours is in development. You'll do it from the same suiteSheets account you already use, with no separate sign-up and nothing to move across. It'll be a one-off £15, and the first one isn't due until January 2028.

More than one income source?

Self-employed and a landlord? No bother.

Many people have more than one income source. If you're self-employed and a landlord, for example, HMRC treats those as separate income sources, so you'll need a quarterly update for each..

For quarterly updates, your first income source is £20 for the tax year, with each additional income source just £10.

At the end of the tax year, your end of year tax return is a separate flat-rate payment of £15, no matter how many income sources you have.

An alternative to accounting software

You don't need a monthly subscription just to tell HMRC your numbers.

Making Tax Digital needs digital records and a quarterly update through compatible software. It doesn't say that software has to be a full accounting package with features you'll never touch.

suiteSheets is UK-built MTD bridging software, made for people who'd rather keep their spreadsheet than learn a new system. suiteSheets just reads your totals and passes them on to HMRC. Your data stays yours.

Solution Annual cost Spreadsheet-based
suiteSheets £20 + £15 / year Yes
Basic accounting software £120-180 / year No
Standard accounting software £240-460 / year No
Accountant-managed filing £500-2,000+ / year -

£20 for your quarterly updates plus a separate £15 when you submit your end of year return, £35 across the year, still less than a single month of most accounting software.

Common questions

Before you sign up

How much does suiteSheets cost?

£20 per tax year for your first income source, covering all four quarterly MTD submissions. Each additional income source is £10 per year. This is paid when you submit your first quarterly update.

End of year tax return submission is on the way. It will be a separate payment of £15 due when you submit it.

Do I pay every quarter?

No. One payment of £20 covers all four quarterly submissions for that tax year.

When do I need to pay?

You can sign up and download the template for free. You only pay when you make your first submission for the tax year.

Is there a monthly subscription?

No. suiteSheets is priced per tax year because most spreadsheet users don't want another monthly software bill.

What about my end of year tax return?

We are busy developing our end of year tax return solution. We'll keep you posted on our progress online or by email.

Once it launches, it's a separate £15 payment, due only when you come to submit.

What if I have both self-employment and property income?

You'll need a separate quarterly submission for each income source, since HMRC treats them differently. Your first income source is £20, and each additional one is £10 - so sole trader plus landlord is £30 for the year in quarterly updates.

Your end of year tax return will be a separate £15 flat fee, regardless of how many income sources you have.

What does suiteSheets not do?

suiteSheets currently handles quarterly MTD updates from your spreadsheet. End of year submission is coming soon and will be priced separately.

suiteSheets doesn't provide tax or accounting advice, manage your bookkeeping, or handle VAT or corporation tax. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the figures you submit to HMRC. If you're unsure about your obligations, speak to a qualified adviser.

Can I resubmit if I make a mistake?

Yes. If you spot an error or get a late invoice before the deadline, just update your spreadsheet and resubmit. There's no extra charge for that.
